One of the riskiest and potentially destructive forms of Technical Debt involves the customization of source code in licensed third party applications.  Back in the day, we called them "mods" - all those little customizations to vendor supplied RPG and CL programs to cater to user requests.  Eventually, they can cripple your line of business applications and your ability to keep them at supported levels.  Join us as we explore methods to use better programming practice to reduce if not completely eliminate mods, while still being able to provide the value adds your business needs.
